Special Mission (In Death series - JD Robb)
Peabody has been given a very special mission to fulfill.

A Sense of Freedom (Disney Princesses)
Mulan is pleasantly surprised when she is given a new post by the Emperor, but nothing ever goes quite as she expected it.

It's actually a crossover, and quite a delightful one. But if you know Mulan, you'll probably know the crossover fandom so don't worry about it. Definitely worth the read - especially because the girls are awesome in it.

(Twisted Disney Princesses)
Even six months after the Mandate of Heaven fell upon another, the river runs foul all its length, no matter how they dredge it for corpses, or poison.

Eerie and terrifying 'what if' story of a dead girl who continues to fight for China.

What You Wish For And What You Keep (Cinderella (Disney Princess), Cinderella, Prince Charming)
Once, Cinderella had the whole world in her head, and she means to get it back.

This is an utterly alternative view of the Disney Cinderella, but one which makes a fascinating couple of out Cinderella and the Prince. It's...pretty much the 'inside Cinderella's head' view of the movie, where 'inside Cinderella's head' involves a connection with all the other Disney heroines (and some heroes) and with the Prince.

Ms. Frizzle and the Van School Bus (Magic School Bus, Inception, Merlin, Calving & Hobbes, Torchwood, Fringe, Battlestar Galactica, and Dr. Who)

This is, quite literally, "van crack". But good. Highly entertaining - as are all the references to the assorted fandoms. (Actually, the scary part is that I've watched all the fandoms except for Ms. Frizzle. Which makes the fact that I read it at all even more bizarre. One note: I found it a little annoying that Gaius is constantly misspelled all through the fic.

Three Dinners And A Dance (Peter Pan (2003); Wendy Darling)
A study of Wendy over the course of the story, through the framework of three dinner events. And a glimpse into her future, at a dance.

I don't quite know how to rec this, only that I like what it says about Wendy.

China In Your Hand (Discworld - Terry Pratchett; Tiffany Aching, Granny Aching)
Tiffany had given her a china shepherdess.

The story of the china shepherdess...from Granny Aching's side of things.

Clouds The Colour Of Fire (Dragonriders of Pern - Anne McCaffrey; Lessa, F'lar, Ramoth, Mnementh, Manora)
Lessa discovers that she is pregnant with F'lessan.

I've always wanted more about the adventures of Lessa and F'lar, ever since reading Dragonflight and this is an excellent start!

Hen Party (Discworld - Terry Pratchett; Tiffany Aching, Granny, Nanny Ogg, Magrat, Agnes, Anagramma, Petulia)
Tiffany was beginning to regret ever asking Nanny Ogg to be involved in preparations for her impending marriage to Preston.

Hilarious and touching story about what it means to be a witch - for Granny and for Tiffany.

Appointments (Discworld - Terry Pratchett; Vetinari, Vimes, Moist Von Lipwig)
Part of a morning in the very busy life of Havelock Vetinari.

Great humour, rampant use of footnotes, and totally in-character meetings and greetings involving the Patrician of Ankh-Morpork.

It Could Be You (Discworld - Terry Pratchett; Moist Von Lipwig, Vetinari, Adora Belle Dearheart)
Moist von Lipwig is taking on a new project, but this time his big idea is a load of balls.

There are a plethora of fics that amaze me every year in Yuletide, and this is one of them. From the illustrations to the contract to the whole idea of an Ankh-Morpork Lottery instigated by Moist... Oh yes, definitely worth the rec!
