Okay, now I've had a chance to watch this episode a few times...

I'm guessing that the fan theory is that the ZPM the Ancients used to send the Atlantis expedition back to Earth is the one that the expedition lost hold of in The Brotherhood?

Allina made it quite clear that they were saving it for the Ancients, and now the Ancients really have come back...

Did they explicitly mention this in the episode, or did I miss that? Or was the assumption that the Ancients on the Aurora-class ship had their own ZPM?

(I think I should watch McKay and Mrs. Millar. I haven't yet. It might actually explain what happened with the ZPM since I don't know if it was drained dead, or just to really low levels.)

Also, I wonder if we're going to see a backlash against the Ancients in the second half of S3. It sounded like Teyla's people weren't particularly happy at being told to move on by their beloved Ancestors. And after six weeks of Earth time, the Gennii were clearly still working at fighting the Wraith.

I wonder if the Ancients had any kind of contact with the Pegasus natives they left to their own devices. And if so, what? And what about the Wraith? I mean, are they gonna sit on their hands for six weeks while the Lanteans are out of the picture?

And I still adore the idea of the Gennii headhunting Teyla and Ronon. Even after the Atlantis expedition comes back.

Now, I want to write a Teyla-Ronon-Gennii story: because I can't imagine Ronon sitting in camp for the whole six weeks. And once Teyla's people were settled in, and any leadership issues sorted out, I imagine she would have joined in with whatever bits and pieces Ronon was doing - if only to keep a watchful eye on him and provide a balance for Mr. Growl-first-and-ask-questions-later.

Watching the goodbye between John and Teyla... I don't know if it was scripted that way, but the fact that John murmured "Take care," rather than just saying it in normal tones the way Teyla said "Farewell," shot that scene from 'okay, I'm a happy camper, but it could just be a friendshippy/allies kind of thing' into 'OMFG! SHIP!' for me.

And after The Real World, I'll bet that the first thing Elizabeth did was surreptitiously check up on Simon. Even if the guy cheated on her (and I prefer the idea that he told her a lie to end the relationship), I think the thought of him dead would shake her - and even if the whole scenario was a dream, she'd still want confirmation that he's alive and in the world.

Sheppard and Carson would have had some interesting talks in the SGC commissary. Maybe reminiscing. Occasionally with Lorne. They could both miss Rodney, or wonder how Teyla and Ronon were doing, discuss the last injury that came through the Stargate and the fight against the Orii.

And then there's SG-1 and Sheppard. Or SG-1 and Carson. Do you think Cameron would fanboi Sheppard, too? Or has he only enough room in his heart for SG-1? *g* Maybe the novelty would have worn off now that he's the leader of SG-1.

Hah. Cameron complaining about how he doesn't actually 'command' anyone on SG-1, and Sheppard pointing out that with Teyla, Ronon, and McKay on his team, he didn't really have anyone to command. And then the two could engage in a 'whose professional life is worse' competition. ([livejournal.com profile] purple_cube? You could work in a Shep/Teyla/Cameron angle in here!)

A story about Ronon sleeping with a couple of Athosian girls, and unconsciously fomenting jealousy among them. Teyla doing the *facepalm* of "why did I end up as his keeper?" and dealing with the Athosian girls (who think she's jealous) and Ronon (who thinks she's blowing this out of proportion), and missing Atlantis and the people she could have spoken to about this - however obliquely.

Oh man. So many plotbunnies! So little time!

Someone else will have to do the plotbunnies featuring SG-1. I've only seen 200.

Yes, they had their own ZPM, hence the ship could reach such great speeds. McKay mentions it in passing as a possibility.

McKay speculated that if the Ancients had a ZPM, they would have been able to get the ship to accelerate to near-light speeds.

Though if they could do that, why couldn't they repair their hyperdrive in 12 years "relative" time? I could buy that they may not have had all the pieces, but you'd think they'd have been able to jury-rig something. I mean, they are Lanteans aren't they?

My guess is that they must have had more than one ZPM, or at least known where a storage cache of them was, as they were talking about activating the shield when the repli-lanteans attacked, and that requires more power than I'd imagine a ZPM used to propel a ship at near-light speed for 12 years would still have had.

Well, if those are the kind of stories we have to look forward to during the break, I might just be able to hadle the six month wait. :)

Such good plot bunnies! If I didn't have my own brood, I'd snag a few. Maybe later when I don't have ficathons to madly finish.
I was under the assumption that because they now have that network of Gates they no longer need a ZPM to be able to go back and forth from Earth. Otherwise, how could the gang get to Pegasus? They'd have had to hijack the Daedalus (which could make for an amusing story). I could be totally wrong, though. They weren't very detailed about the loss of the ZPM and the network thing.

Can you do this one? Please, pretty please, cherry and chocolate whipped cream on top?! Because, yeah, for some reason the idea of Ronon's antics frustrating Teyla and making her miss the Atlantis crew desperately makes my inner fangirl squee. As for SG1 plotbunnies they don't really occur for me, except where SGA characters are concerned. :D
