I am trying to write for the Het Porn Ficathon but the sex just ain't getting there!

I don't know that I even have anything laid out for the team ficathon fugacious_love is running.

In the meantime, there are a number of ficathons that you might like to look at signing up for:

john_teyla_fic is running a ficathon for all forms of interaction between John and Teyla. If you like them as team-mates, then they're looking for people to write team-oriented fic. If you like them as lovers, then that's an option as well. You can specify what you want and don't want in the story, the only requirement is that the story should be focused on the dynamic between them, whether they're kicking ass while trying to save the galaxy, or doing the horizontal mambo in the sheets.

Then there are sign ups for the gate_women ficathon: stories about Sam, Vala, Teyla, or Elizabeth - or any combination thereof. They're looking for people willing to leave the boys at home and show the girls out having adventures of their own.

Finally, for the SG1 fans, there's the dark_gate ficathon. (What is it with everyone creating new communities for ficathons? What's wrong with the communities that already exist?) I don't think this one is open to SGA fans or characters (the userinfo doesn't seem to indicate that it is) but we could always ask.

It must be this whole hiatus thing. Everyone's going a bit stir-crazy. And we haven't even gotten through the first week.

I have the loose_ends_fic ficathon. It's to tie up random plot points from SG-1...like what happened to Schroedinger and if Jonas survived the Ori take over of Langara.

Which is a shame because I would say I was only good at Sam.

I can handle Elizabeth. Attempts at Teyla lie abandoned on my computer at the moment...

But the thing is, would I be able to write the interaction correctly?

*sigh* I'm hoping for more Teyla fic, actually.

Writing any character is really just a matter of getting into their head and sorting out their motivations: why are they doing this, why aren't they doing that?

And it's all a matter of imagination based on what we're given in the show. Interaction is simply people reacting to the situation and each other according to their mindsets.

Well maybe one day I'll finish my Teyla fic where she explains Athosian relationships to Carson...and maybe confesses having a brief relationship with somebody else :p

Well, we asked around at a couple of the existing John/Teyla comms but as they are having their own events around christmas and new year, they weren't keen on hosting this one as well

Did you ask john_teyla? I'm reasonably sure that allisnow or sjhw_tolerance would have been okay to host it.

Yep, well doxymom did the asking. They're starting their own ficathon in November, so the end of this ficathon and the start of theirs overlap (I assume that was why they declined). I'm not sure what the reason was at sheppard_teyla

Pity. I would have figured that the overlap wouldn't make much difference - it's really just posting the ficathon Masterlist in the end.

Oh well. It just seems that there are about 15 different John/Teyla communities, each of which have the same 60 people subbed to it, and none of which have any significant volume of traffic. Creating another one felt like overkill.
