There are just so many things to do and not enough time to do them.
a practical acquaintance with bees is at 28K and I still haven't reached the halfway point. *shudder* It was supposed to be for the
marvel_bang but I couldn't promise it was going to be finished by then - incidentally,
geckoholic, that's the same fic I sent you for the
wipbigbang which also never got off the ground.
Sokovia, Suburbia, and the Senate is 1/4 through at around 10K. The premise is all laid out, the stage set, the characters firmly positioned. The next 1/4 of the story is the relationship development.
They're the only two big things I have on my plate (I think): otherwise, there's fic tennis with
geckoholic, assorted bits and pieces that I want to get out before Cap3 totally puts a spoke in my wheel, at least two - maybe three - gifsets I need to make, and possibly a Maria Hill week in October.
I think I'm going to have to take the lead on the Maria Hill week, the others are all 16-22 y.o. fans and worried about treading on toes, or too busy.
I put my story The Netlink up for concrit at the Jody Lynn Nye workshop at DragonCon, and got some very useful feedback in return. The story's been 'finished' for the better part of ten years, but ten years ago there were no self-publishing or novella options for a story like The Netlink. There is now. Also, the feedback was really useful - the characters are pretty good, my style is readable, but I have to work on some of the nuts and bolts of the world, how and why people are doing what they're doing.
And I think I'll go back to Carlos and the Shadowkids for NaNo this year. Switching Tiana for Josh threw everything into the mixer, and now nothing is quite the same. That's not a bad thing - Tiana can bring a whole heap of things to the table that Josh simply couldn't, but it's going to take a fair bit of reconfiguring. I have it in my head, I just need to slog through.
So that's the writing front - crazy, eh?
Let's not even count all the things I want to do in the garden now that it's SPRING. (And it's definitely spring: my tulips say so!

My mother's assistance in the garden has been...mixed useful. On the positive side, I have four holes in my garden right now, and many fruit trees in which to put them. On the negative side, she and her gardener weeded out all my orchard groundcover...
*grr*
This week, I'm going to dig up spaces and plant a lot of quick-growing greens for the spring/early summer salads. I probably should have planted them out before this, but I was lazy before I went away in August and this is the result.
Quilting...I have two things with a deadline, one which is a class, and four things that I want to get done before the end of the year. And that's the 'easy' list.
Why are there so many things to do? Why?
And today I'm back to work after four weeks off. I'm dreading to discover what client I'll end up at...
