My quilt got accepted into Quiltcon - the Modern Quilt Guild's annual quilt show!

I'm a little bit surprised - last year, they were really pushing the 'modernist' look for quilts: lots of negative space, improvisational piecing, and so forth, and 'Swarm' doesn't have either of those:

"Swarm" - photographed square! Such a labour of love and inspiration. And yes, @2bees, I'm filling out the competition forms now! #swarmbysel

And now it's going to be a mad dash to get a hanging sleeve and a label on the back, package it up, and post it out to Pasadena, CA before 14th January 2015. With tracking.

I have a hanging sleeve already made...somewhere... My quilting room is a mess:

Dontcha wish your workroom was chaos like mine?!? #honestsewingroom

Actually, that's 'Swarm' draped over the table in the middle.

So, that's my positive news of the day.

Wow, that's a BEAUTIFUL quilt -- and I'm not surprised they loved it; it's eye-catching and undoubtedly modern too.

I note that I'm not culturally an expert, but I lived in the US South for a year, and I've seen many a quilt, and some a-quilters. :)
