depressing realisations

There are 140 stories on AO3 tagged "Maria Hill & Natasha Romanoff" and I wrote 20 of them. And most of that 20 aren't even focused on Maria and Natasha's friendship.

*sigh*

Today, I'm tired of fandom. But I'll keep writing because that's all I know how to do and everyone thinks I'm sucker anyway.

I argued, back in 2012, that almost none of the fics tagged as having Maria were actually about Maria to get her into a rare character fic exchange.

By the time she appeared in Cap2, she got a little more play. But, yeah. Someone over on the other journal just said "she's barely a person". Oddly, nobody ever seems to have trouble by assigning characterisation to men who aren't fleshed out in canon - only women.

LOL. Yes, we sound like that. Particularly when you've been listening to too much American TV.
