So, it's the weirdest thing actually having to go 40 entries back through my Readlist in the space of a day. WEIRD. I haven't had to do that in, oh, about 8 years (and that was LJ).
Mind you, a lot of those entries are the 2017revival introductions and the comm that lets you know about new comms popping up. And friends who are crossposting from twitter and instagram.
Still, that's a helluva lot more action than I've seen in a while!
(And it's kind of good. Not quite the meta-y stuff that I have long been longing for around here, but nice to see some activity. Here's hoping it remains active!)

So, my cousin-in-law, A, is getting remarried in 10 days or so. He's the widow of Cousin T, who died about 18 months ago of complications related to breast cancer. She was (quite hilariously and openly) canvassing for a new wife for him pretty much once they knew it was terminal. This may not seem unusual to many of you polygamous peoples out there, but when I tell you that we're Christians, please understand that it's kind of humourous/funny and, yes, a little bit weird. But very T, too. She firmly believed in the afterlife with Christ, where there's no married or unmarried, rich or poor, Australian or Chinese, so of course A should have someone to share the rest of his life on this side of living!
I'm making them a quilt for their wedding. I didn't make Cousin T and A a quilt when they got married (15 years ago? 16?) because I wasn't hugely into quiltmaking at the time. And then I should have made T one when she got sick...but...yeah. You procrastinate until there's no more time, and then you realise there is no more time and go, "well, that was stupid."
Anyway, this is the quilt that I'm giving them:
It's called the Meadow Quilt and it's by the designer Lizzy House. Only it's supposed to go in a 4x5 rectangle configuration and I said, "Oh, bugger that." Because I'm a bit like that.
Tomorrow is the day of quilting, and I have a back that I seriously need to sew together for it, and then I have to finalise the design for the quilting...or else just make it up as I go along...
Tonight, I have to dig up some lemongrass, only it's already dark outside. Luckily, the lemongrass is right in the line of my headlights as my car is parked in the carport. SCORE! I'm digging up a clump of lemongrass to swap with a woman 30 mins away whose parents have an olive tree whose olives are ripe. Basically, I'm going to try curing my own olives. Probably by brining them since that looks like it involves less water. (But will probably end with them more salty. Oh well.)
I also have to drop around to a friend's house and check on her cat. They've gone to visit the US and while a friend is coming to stay in a day or two, I'm occasionally looking after the cat.
As compared to B1 who is most definitely looking after the parental cat when they go to Spain for five weeks from Saturday. Retirees. It's the life (if you were born in the right years and got damn lucky - and they did, although my stepfather would disagree simply because his brothers got a better deal being ten to fifteen years older and rather more fiscally cunning).
And for those of you who know about B2...it's okay. We're back on even keel. For a while anyway. Until the next crisis...
Today I logged into an application for the type of work I do...and discovered that my company has not yet severed the connection between my login for that app and their partner grouping. So I still have access to all their trouble tickets for the customers on that app... Oops!
Finally, Not Primetime sign-ups are GO!
(And thank you to whoever picked up my smut swap pinch hit. I hope the other lonely PH recip has also found a home.)
This has been a ramble straight out of my brain. Sorry about that...

That's a beautiful gift! I can't even understand how long that must have taken you!

But yes, it's a lot of effort!
(And YAY people posting!)

I follow quite a lot of people on Dreamwidth (part of my brain truly seems to believe it's possible to meet/read ALL THE INTERESTING PEOPLE OUT THERE, which is obviously not true >.<), so my feed has usually been pretty active anyway, but it's still great to see the upswing in activity and newer people getting comfortable here.

It's probably not gonna help you much but I have been eyeing your pinch hit the whole week and would have picked it up last minute if it had still been open, but argh it's been a week I already had a pinch hit I claimed earlier, and besides, you've gotten stuck with my stuff often enough in the past lol.
