It never ceases to amaze me how many grown men are quite incapable of operating a dishwasher in an office setting*.

* and possibly also in a home setting.

If all you want is something very simple for dinner, it's really quite difficult to find. And they serve SO MUCH FOOD.

I didn't sleep very well last night, in spite of exhaustion. I think I had indigestion which my sister thinks wasn't surprising given how large the meal I was served last night was. Wish I'd had a takeaway container and I'd have saved more. In fact, the reason I ran the dishwasher was because I could tuck my takeaway container in on top and get it washed that way, suitable for tonight's dinner...whatever that might be.

This morning, I had a single-orgin espresso coffee with a splash of milk. I think the barista was a little confused; he checked with me first if I wanted the milk hot or cold, and then wasn't sure if he'd put in enough. Instead of buying a pastry from the cafe/coffeeshop, I ate an apple that I'd brought from home.

On of the reasons I had the 'odd' coffee order was because yesterday I ordered a small latte and got a large one instead. I drank the whole thing and I think the full cup of full cream milk (12oz) did ugh-y things to my stomach, filling me up and leaving me feeling bloated (on top of the period). Even a day later, I'm still feeling quite overly-full, even after lunch was only the 2nd half of yesterday's lunch. Then again, I've been feeling overly full for a few days now - one part having to finish things (like the ramen noodle soup and trimmings) and one part eating too often and not exercising enough to burn it off. Might have to eat minimally for the rest of the week.

I definitely have to start running again. At this point I've been graded into Team 2 which is...pretty good. Some good players in there, a few friends, and definitely a mix of the two, so I'm pretty happy. Although if the really fast but not very skilled player has been graded into Team 1, I'll be a bit annoyed. (I'm still wondering if the Team 1 coach doesn't like me.) Anyway, at a guess, the team is right about my level, but I'll definitely need to get my fitness up for it.

Also needed: a trip to the podiatrist for a better set of orthotics.

I have realised that what I need in my PNR series is a 'book 0' or a book about the MC before the bigger arc takes off in the one that I'm trying to write now. That makes the connections between the MC and all the other characters who are going to litter the landscape through the next four or five books. (Still haven't worked out how long this thing is.) So that's kind of a relief. Now HAHAHA I just have to write it.

If you're worried about me in the Sydney floodings, by the way, fear not. I'm not near any rivers - we're actually in the 'foothills' of the Sydney Hills - about 11m above sea level, not really near any of the big rivers or water bodies. In addition, the house is built off the ground and the soil is pretty absorbent. There were some big puddles at the lowest point of the garden during the week, but We're doing okay, the people we know are doing okay. But, yeah, after last year's fires, this year's flooding is going to hit a lot of people really hard.

*sigh*

I feel like I have it in me for a piece on the intersection of being a woman, being of Chinese ancestry, and being a Christian. It's a big question here in Australia, too: sexism, racism, and religion all hitting or being hit hard at once. And frankly I'd rather I wrote it than some conservative white male for Eternity News, because frankly more often than not their take is BAAAAAD.

I am le tired.
