This fic was rec'd by pentapus a few days ago and I finally roused me to read it.

Loved it. Ronon POV, some Satedan backstory, a lot of current observations and interactions with his team, a picnic, and a slow angling towards John/Teyla. Brilliant writing, perfect characterisation, really awesome.

Don't let the John/Teyla stop you from clicking! I know some of you read my J/T fics in spite of not actually liking the pairing; well, I think she's better at the characterisation than me.

I've been writing crackfic for the last two weeks. I'm putting it aside. I'm also avoiding the John&Cameron ficathon taking place over at sg_flyboys - I don't know if they'd accept John/Teyla/Cameron (which, yes, ladyjax and purple_cube, you have corrupted me into), but I figure I could do flyboys okay.

However, that's no reason that anyone else on my f-list shouldn't sign up!

Actually...I'm not allowed to sign up for any more ficathons now. I promised a friend I wouldn't.

eta note: I apologise if the repeated consideration of matters of race and gender in fandom offend the readers of this LJ, but it's a topic I find interesting and complex - partly because the bulk of fandom shrugs it off as though it doesn't matter or isn't relevant to them (and I'd like to see the person who isn't affected by their race and gender - are you human or not?), and partly for the fact that it's interesting to me as an academic topic, and of personal interest to my situation.

Completely and utterly off-topic, but I just wanted to thank you for writing such fantastic John/Teyla fics. I had started off in fandom leaning toward J/T, but had quickly switched to John/Elizabeth. Time and reading your fics is pulling me back to my original preference. That's all. :) Merci.
