I wrote a story that's plotwise about original characters, but themewise about the matched characters. I think.
Now I'm thinking it should be plotwise about the matched characters, too.
ARGH.
edit: Okay, I wrote something else - dashed off 1000 words and it'll do, pig, it'll do. *creative funk*

You are an excellent writer. Even if the story you have written isn't your absolute best work, I guarantee you it's still a decent story ... and at least for myself, when I get in a perfectionist flummox about how a story isn't good enough and I should completely change it, the story itself is FINE. It is not the problem. Perfectionism gets me so wound up in myself that I can't see the story for what it is. I explain to someone else what I think the problem is, and they read the story, and it turns out that it's only a problem in my head.
Might this be the case in this instance?
