It was doing so well before I went to the physio yesterday.

And then I cleaned the oven. *sigh*

Now it's aching again. Needs rest. Possibly a good massage. IDEK.

Okay, I am going to wrestle a quilt binding through the machine (lol probably not helping the arm) and then go have a lie-down.

Going to dinner with the parentals tonight. I suggested the place, so I'll be paying the bulk of the price since the sisters earn considerably less.

One reason I don't invite friends out more often is beceause, I guess, I had it indoctrinated into me that couples do couple things and they don't want a tagalong. There's a whole discussion to be had about singles and where they fit into society, and particularly Christian society, but, yeah. It's a bit awkward for me to be the one bringing that up.

Huh.

In pre-COVID days, I loved having meals with single friends one on one without my partner. It's a nice vibe just to have your friend to yourself sometimes.

And it made way more sense for my partner to go have dinner with his best friend from high school by himself than to have me tag along. (My partner's best friend from highschool, Bill, doesn't bring his husband along to dinner either.)

Sometimes it's nice to socialise as a couple,

but it's also normal/healthy to spend some time socialising independently.

Oh gosh, on your last point, as someone in a couple I love going out with friends without my husband. I get to see lots of him, and not nearly enough of my friends, especially now he works from home 100% and I mostly work from home. Also if one of us stays home we don't need to consider childcare costs. We have only very very recently reached the point of our children being ok to leave alone together for a few hours, so my brain is still used to automatically thinking about babysitting budget when considering going out.
