And had all the horrible thoughts about being a terrible owner and idiosyncratic pet behaviours and maybe never seeing them again and...

A friend on FB reminded me that in a week, we'll have new windows, a clean house, and the cats will be back!

I'm clinging to that right now, because I'd really like to cry.
