Looks like 2024 is going to be one of change.
For starters, the bible study group I've been with for the last five years is splitting up. It's just the change in life and living, and it happens from year to year. I'm very sad and a little nervous because I'm not theologically conservative and although the church is theologically conservative, I landed in a group that's willing to talk about things from a not-so-conservative perspective. I don't know where that will go this year. A lot of things are changing in the Christian spaces - divisions between churches that are being billed as unreconcilable; what was a "broad church" of evangelical thinking (unified around one thought) has become one that splits on points of theodoxy and orthopraxy - and not just splits, but also condemns and damns.
IDK. I knew this was coming (both the group change and the winds of change in the church) but I think it's going to be rough sailing going forward.

A friend of mine whose hockey team I played for a couple of times last year is coming to play with my club. Her team was the bottom of the table for several years running and th team got 'relegated' which means they got dropped out of their competition (they were the lowest tier) and the nearest corresponding competition they could join is over an hour away.
It was a bit funny and kind of sweet; she was all "can I join your team? What do I have to do? Who do I have to talk to?"
Honestly, all she'd have to do is turn up and say she'd been playing in the lowest level of her comp and we'd be all "COME IN! PLAY FOR OUR A-GRADE TEAM". But because she knows me she also wants to play with me, and I'm usually put into the 2nd team. So they'll honour that, although she might find it a much easier competition than she's used to.

House roof is going ahead.
Job is not yet secured, but still have fingers crossed.
Suspect I have a virus, and should really get some extra sleep.
Need to make meatballs today sometime. The bits have been defrosting in the fridge and they need using TODAY.

So, was she at a higher or lower level than your team? I don't get the levels.

Seems that all churches are having problems. Everyone has their own way/interpretation when it comes to religion. Much like the politics going on in the world today.
