Hmm. So, can I call oppression against Teyla in SGA fandom and get Teyla-centric fic out of it?

Or is that reserved only for the "oppressed" fans of characters with hundreds of fangirls and thousands of stories about their favourite pairing?

Looks to me like that post should've been on clairvoyantwank instead of f_w.

Regarding the content, as a fan of both Teyla and Elizabeth of equal degree, I'm not going to begrudge Elizabeth fans from wanting more Elizabeth-centric fic to counter what they see as character bashing. I haven't read the fic in question, but I'm assuming it's a parody or satire or whatever. However, from a quick glance at the comments I get the impression that there's mocking and taunting of the Sparky shippers, which... *shrug* whatever. I guess that's the nature of fandom.

I think there are many many variables involved in why there's such a dearth of Teyla-centric fic, and, aside from the glaringly obvious, the reasoning behind them depend largely on what type of Teyla fic one is looking for.

Help! Help! You're being oppressed!

Oh, why Fandom Wank are you being difficult and keeping me from the delicious sparky wank? I've been waiting some kind of an explosion for weeks.

I finally got to read it. Not nearly as satisfying as I would have liked. *sigh* I read the Elizabeth fic in question and actually had a few flashbacks to some really bad shweir fic I had read before.

I probably wouldn't be saying it if the shoe was on the other foot...oh wait, what I am talking about? I'm a John/Teyla fan. Fandom hates us by default. :)
