Outside the cut, the only thing I'll say is that everyone should watch this episode.
The Teyla episode to watch. If you love Teyla, claim to love Teyla, mildly like Teyla, or have even the vaguest appreciation for the character at all, then I advise you to watch this episode.
What to say? Where to start? A team episode that gives Teyla a key role - an upfront, key role without apology or casting her as the damsel in distress without any kind of mitigation? Yeah, I'm down with the episode purely on that alone!
And then the team and the emotional balanced with the explosional, and the Wraith Queen and Teyla and John and Ronon and Rodney...
*makes incoherent handflappy gestures*
So, yes. A really awesome episode.
Things I loved:
Teyla.
Teyla's abilities being used.
Teyla's abilities being magnified by her pregnancy.
Teyla flying the Wraithship.
Teyla taking over the Wraith Queen's mind, both fighting the Wraith Queen and controlling her.
Teyla rescuing her team-mates.
Teyla coming to a realisation of just how important her child is and how much she'll do to protect it.
Ronon dragging Rodney out of the locker room. (You know, Rodney is adorable when he's clueless.)
Lorne and his pep talk. (Such a sweetheart!)
John going out to talk to Teyla at the end of the ep and his emotional stuffed-upness.
Teyla hugging John again ("John Sheppard, first choice of huggee in the Stargate Universe!")
Things I didn't love:
*crickets chirp*
Um, yeah. So
ileliberte? They gave us our 'missing scenes of emotional continuity' in spades. Hell, they gave it to us in diamonds, clubs, and hearts as well! This is the effing Joker of Teyla-trumpage!
Alan McCullough is my new hero! Carl Binder is good for the character pieces, sure but he seems to get stuck a little on the 'integrate the female characters with the main storyline'; McCullough can write team action-adventure while still giving Teyla a significant role.
*loves him*

You know the first thing I thought when I saw that those
Teyla/Lorne scenes was, "Ohhh, there will be lots of fic w/that pairing", and then I thought of a certain author/s. *G*

But yes, Lorne is such a sweetheart!

First: they find this deserted hive ship with a map to a mysterious Wraith facility and they head off to check it out ... without even telling Atlantis where they're going! Aargh! What happens if they need backup? What happens if it's a trap? What happens if it really is a critical installation and they fail? Atlantis won't know what happened to them or where the target is or anything!
Second: they go to this place and find out that yes, it really does have a Wraith facility different from anything they've seen before and probably significant. What do they do? Walk right in the first door they see, without any clue what's inside, and presumably Atlantis still doesn't know what's going on. So if something goes significantly wrong, they're screwed. I turned to Mom and said, "I see we forgot to take our anti-stupid pills today."
Aside from those two things, the episode rocked. Would it have killed them to put in a line about swinging by the spacegate near where they found the hive so they could report back about what they'd found?

It would be so routine that they wouldn't need to say they did it - they just did.

I loved Ronon pulling Rodney out of the locker room.
I loved the Lorne pep talk to Teyla. I like how he was all, "I didn't know you were dating anyone" line. The same as with John, I see it as an indication that he may have been pining from Teyla, and now her being pregnant kinda takes her off the market. It's like when you get a boyfriend, and suddenly all these guys come out of the woodwork saying how the liked you or whatever, but didn't decide to tell you until you've already found someone else.
And I like how Teyla came to realize that now that she's pregnant, she has "other considerations" rather than just the lives of her teammates.
And let's not forget how Ronon and John were practically tripping over each other to keep Teyla from stumbling after she got finished flying the Wraith ship to the planet. I found that really funny, but it made a point.
After seeing this episode, I'm even more thoroughly convinced that Michael had something to do with Teyla's pregnancy. Of course her Wraith mind abilities would be magnified if she was pregnant with a "wraith baby." I think the child is mostly human, but he must have more than just Teyla's Wraith genes for his mental abilities to be that strong to help her control a Wraith queen.

Lorne is such a sweetheart, really. And I can see him having a little crush on Teyla (like Zelenka had a little crush on Elizabeth) but just being a friend to her and admiring her on the side.
Yeah, the baby augment is definitely pointing towards her son having special abilities! Kindred is definitely going to be an interesting ep!

Pretty much. Although I also read it as a kind of, "so...who's the lucky guy?" question.

And I like Todd as an ambivalent frenemy. He's a little like the Wraith version of the Genii, except obviously, a little more of a threat than the Genii, because he might be helpful to Atlantis but he'll always have an underlying motive lying back there...
