Outside the cut, the only thing I'll say is that everyone should watch this episode.

The Teyla episode to watch. If you love Teyla, claim to love Teyla, mildly like Teyla, or have even the vaguest appreciation for the character at all, then I advise you to watch this episode.

What to say? Where to start? A team episode that gives Teyla a key role - an upfront, key role without apology or casting her as the damsel in distress without any kind of mitigation? Yeah, I'm down with the episode purely on that alone!

And then the team and the emotional balanced with the explosional, and the Wraith Queen and Teyla and John and Ronon and Rodney...

*makes incoherent handflappy gestures*

So, yes. A really awesome episode.

Things I loved:
Teyla.
Teyla's abilities being used.
Teyla's abilities being magnified by her pregnancy.
Teyla flying the Wraithship.
Teyla taking over the Wraith Queen's mind, both fighting the Wraith Queen and controlling her.
Teyla rescuing her team-mates.
Teyla coming to a realisation of just how important her child is and how much she'll do to protect it.
Ronon dragging Rodney out of the locker room. (You know, Rodney is adorable when he's clueless.)
Lorne and his pep talk. (Such a sweetheart!)
John going out to talk to Teyla at the end of the ep and his emotional stuffed-upness.
Teyla hugging John again ("John Sheppard, first choice of huggee in the Stargate Universe!")

Things I didn't love:
*crickets chirp*

Um, yeah. So [livejournal.com profile] ileliberte? They gave us our 'missing scenes of emotional continuity' in spades. Hell, they gave it to us in diamonds, clubs, and hearts as well! This is the effing Joker of Teyla-trumpage!

Alan McCullough is my new hero! Carl Binder is good for the character pieces, sure but he seems to get stuck a little on the 'integrate the female characters with the main storyline'; McCullough can write team action-adventure while still giving Teyla a significant role.

*loves him*
