Six weeks to go. Three options for Atlantis Big Bang:

Which one to write?

1. Black Jewels Atlantis: John/Teyla, est. length ~40,000
- got a few more scenes in...and stalled again
- was going to do this for [community profile] scifibigbang

2. Astonishing Persistence of Memory: John, team, John/Teyla, est. length ~60,000
- I didn't think I could, but I can probably nut out the scenes better and go back to writing this
- it would fit nicely after writing the other two for the previous years' bigbangs.
- it's scary big and long and I'm not sure that I have all of it laid out in my mind

3. A Matter Of Survival: John&Teyla, H/C, "duetfic", might turn John/Teyla at the end, est. length ~40,000
- capture and survival story, reliance, interdependance, and maybe a little bit of Stockholm
- would require a lot of reading up on the situation and I can't find the books that I was going to use as references

I need to pick one and concentrate on it and I'm all scattered about right now.

Thoughts?

Seen off my network:

Who would win in a deathmatch of John vs. Jennifer over Rodney?

Well, while John and Jennifer were having the biggest bitchslapfest in the history of the Stargate universe (possibly only outdone by Vala vs. Rodney - and that would be prolonged because Vala was feeling playful), Teyla would be seducing Rodney until he was helplessly in her thrall, at which point the winner comes up to claim their 'prize' and then Teyla annihilates them because this is the woman who handed maybe!John a gun because she saw that whether he was John or not!John he'd still have neutralised Phoebus, and who kicks Ronon's ass while blindfolded.

Or else they have a threesome: Teyla/Rodney/[winner]

"Some concerns" ≠ "never ever write this"

Being asked to be thoughtful is not censoring free speech, harshing squee, or pissing in the sandbox.

It is not more oppressive to be asked to be considerate of others than it is to be the subject of systemic oppression.

Write whatever the fuck you like. But write it with thoughtfulness and respect for those for whom your "fictional situation" is a fact of daily life.

If you don't write it with thoughtfulness and respect, expect to get called on it.

Getting called on your lack of respect is far from the worst thing in the world that will ever happen to you.

Embarrassment and regret are not terminal. Nor is apologising.
