For [livejournal.com profile] coolbreeze1! I'm sorry it's so very late!

TITLE: Shoulder To Shoulder
AUTHOR: Tielan
SUMMARY: When John and Teyla are trapped on a planet with a group of refugees, John begins to fall sick. But this time, there's no Atlantis, no modern medicine, no miracle cure. It's just him and Teyla's assistance against the illness.
RATING: PG-13
WARNINGS: mildly graphic descriptions of sickness and illness
CATEGORY: gen, Sheppard hurt/comfort, John&Teyla friendship
DISCLAIMER: Not mine, MGM's and Gekko Productions. I'd have treated them much better. (Or, given this story, possibly not.)
NOTES: For [livejournal.com profile] coolbreeze1 in the [livejournal.com profile] sheppard_hc Santa challenge. I'm so sorry it's late! I'm having a shocking Christmas/New Year period this year.

Beta was by [livejournal.com profile] gaffsie. All mistakes are mine and not hers, though!

The prompt is at the end of the fic.

So: I've joined in with the ps. I quilt January quilt-along, for which we're making a postage stamp quilt.

The reason it's called a postage stamp quilt is because it's made up of tiny little 2"x2" squares. LOTS OF THEM.

Traditionally, one makes a postage stamp quilt out of scraps. And probably sews all the squares together individually. Did I mention that there are LOTS OF THEM?

Luckily, the quilt-along isn't going to be sewing individual squares together - we're going to strip-piece it!

I'm thinking of auctioning off the finished quilt for the Queensland floods. I mean, it'll be a month or two before it's actually finished, but still...

Also, presently putting together the red, white & blue rail fence. Pics to go up tomorrow.

Slightly random question, with possibly icky reminiscence.

How big are your cockroaches? What's the biggest one of those babies you've ever seen?

I just squished one in the shower and from the look of him, he clocks in at at least 3.5cm, heading for 4cm (about an inch and a half). Average sized as my experience with them goes.

Not sure what he was doing behind the shower curtain. Then again, I was having a wash, so...voyeur cockroaches? Ugh. Now that's the stuff of nightmares...

So, now that my [livejournal.com profile] sheppard_hc fic is done and waiting for the recipient to comment, I was going to spend a productive night writing all the other stories that aren't yet finished.

[livejournal.com profile] wedjatqi? I was going to finish your [livejournal.com profile] sga_beya fic, except that Teyla is stalling talking to John about Last Night, and, yeah... I know what they have to say, but they're not saying it!

I also have the [community profile] ante_up_losers ficathon due in about 4 days. Right now, I'm "little engining" it. ("I think I can, I think I can, I think I can...")

On the Sanctuary front, Kate and Will are going to have sex in the elevator. Maybe. Or with handcuffs. Or poker. And Helen and John are...um...fighting. Yes. Fighting. Possibly fighting? With sex involved? I'm thinking about a Henry/Kate/Will threesome actually. And Kate is either outwitting an ex, or negotiating with an abnormal contact she's been keeping from Helen. (But you know that Helen knows about it, because, hey, this is Helen.) Why, yes, I am browsing through the prompts at [livejournal.com profile] sanctuary_kink; what makes you ask?

Also, [community profile] camelot_fleet's finish-a-thon challenge is running through February and March, and I would join to see if anyone wants to read the rest of 'Legends Of Camelot: If Thy Heart Fail Thee, Trust Not In Me' or 'Three Things', or a sequel to 'Not Quite The Lady', except my profic heroine has just announced a fairly major revamp of her story and I'm going to need to knuckle down on the profic if I'm to get it moving.

*major smooches to [livejournal.com profile] heather* Lunchtime butt-nudge and listening ear muchly appreciated.

[livejournal.com profile] wildcat88? If you're wondering why I haven't commented, your fic is top of the reading list. LJ's been doing weird shit for me tonight - won't load anything up without throwing a hissy fit.

Now to get to bed and read another few chapters of [livejournal.com profile] jo_graham's Black Ships. I've read it before, but it's so rich, you can read it over and over again! (I wish someone had requested it in Yuletide. Although they'd probably have requested Neas/Xandros, which I might read, but probably wouldn't write...)

Finally, if you made it through all that, toss me a character or two and a prompt and I'll see what I can do. Random and crazy is fine. I need something to untwist my brain from the knots I tied it in over Christmas-New Year.
