tielan: (don't make me shoot you)

14 cows as a "handkerchief to wipe away tears" of 9/11.
As America looked inward in the days, weeks and months after September 11, 2001, others around the world made extraordinary gestures toward the United States.
We were all so focused on ourselves – understandably so – that many probably missed the fact that Iran's President Mohammad Khatami condemned the attacks, that Ireland and Israel held full national days of mourning, that the Afghan Taliban told "American children [that] Afghanistan feels your pain".

You are even less likely to have heard what could be one of the most touching reactions of all. This is the story of how a destitute Kenyan boy turned Stanford student rallied his Masai tribe to offer its most precious gift to America in its time of need.

I'd never heard of it, certainly.

You know what would really improve my use of Etsy, Ebay, and Amazon?

Search engines that allow me to search for multiple items all at a single seller.

Because I don't want to be buying six different things from six different sellers and have to pay postage on all of them. I'd rather buy one package of six things from a single seller and collect the postage all together.

Of course, I'm just an Australian buyer - we're not important to American e-sellers.

So I've watched the end of Sanctuary Season 3, H5-0 Season 1, the end of Castle Season 2, the start of Lost Girl Season 1 (first episode) and the start of Rizzoli and Isles Season 2 (first episode).

I am ready to talk about any of them. However, be warned, what I have to say may not necessarily be to your liking. I can say that all the season enders were generally enjoyable for something to look at every now and then while finishing off the blocks for my Gothic Summer Sampler but nothing unduly spectacular.

Thanks to assorted writing friends, I've also seen the 1st half of Dr. Who S5, up to Flesh and Stone, and now I'm kinda curious to see Silence In The Library - although I know it's as terrifying as Blink, if not more - just so I can meet River Song the first time around (our chronology, not hers).

I might have another Dr Who day on the 24th if ppl are able to make it. Dr. Who is something that I simply cannot watch alone. CANNOT DO IT.
