SUMMARY: Years after she jilted him at the altar, Ilse Burnley has to deal with Teddy Kent - now husband of her best friend.

NOTES: Me being me, I left this until the last week, then tore my hair out trying to get it done. But I rather liked the result - Ilse and Perry are rather cute in their 20s-ish swinger-y way, and I liked the conversation and ramble that Ilse and Emily go on. Overall, I'm quite satisfied with this story.

TITLE: My Kingdom For A Kiss
SUMMARY: A month after Rapunzel is returned to her family, she's still adjusting to palace life - and so is Eugene.

NOTES: I think the thing about this story is that I feel I didn't quite have the skill to pull it off. But it was well-received, which is the important thing. I wanted to write a longer, action/adventure-ish story about Rapunzel and Eugene getting into scrapes in the palace, and maybe I still will, but I think I may have to buy the movie and watch a lot of the 2nd half to get a feel for the city and the kinds of things that could happen.

NOTES: This was a 'missing scene' I kind of wrote for the middle of my assignment fic, but it didn't quite fit the mood of the other one. I'm not sure it's as finished as I'd like, but I didn't want to just throw it out, so I put it down as a treat.

NOTES: My most popular fic and rather fun to write. Tiana and Naveen just kind of turned up at the end, and then the ending wrote itself! I'd love to write more in the Disney Princess Detective Agency universe, I just don't know where to start!

2011: in which there is fic

So, 2011 is the year I kind of slacked off in fandom.

I watched Fringe, Sanctuary, H50, Rizzoli and Isles, Lost Girl, Castle, and Dr. Who, and only really added Sanctuary to the writing list.

SGA continued to dominate the scene, although Sanctuary made a good showing for the first half of the year, before fizzling out due to a lack of Kate and/or Kate/Will. I started writing Harry Potter Next Gen fic (about the children), joined in with a fanfic exchange for The Losers, eked out a couple of Merlin fics, and an NCIS (I kind of stopped watching the show), wrote one H50 fic about the girls (not well-received in a fandom that's all about the Steve/Danny slash), and there was, of course, Yuletide (last year and this), with Young Wizards, Jason Bourne, Emily of New Moon, and the Disney Princesses.

SGA Santa reveal!

Uh, this one's long!

For the sga_santa 2011, I got assigned starry_haze! And she got this:

TITLE: Widow's Pique
SUMMARY: Among the Blood, Black Widows are witches who are feared and distrusted for the skill with which they can weave tangled webs to see visions of the future - or entrap the mind. But when Teyla Emmagan of Athos village is called to the court of the Queen of Atlantis Territory, she is less concerned about being misunderstood, and more worried to step awry in the complex politics of the Atlantis court.

Then, too, there is the distracting presence of John Sheppard, a Warlord Prince whose interest in her is something Teyla cannot fathom. Does he distrust her motives? Is he merely protecting his Queen? Or is his interest something else - something that Teyla must learn to accept in order to best serve her Queen, her Territory, and her own heart?

NOTES: This is the first part of the prequel to 'To Serve A Queen', and has been added to a little bit at a time for the last five years. I didn't think starry_haze would mind too much if I completed it as her SGA Santa fic - it fit most of her requirements, the concerning one being "close-to-canon AUs". I made several other attempts at ficness - the original plan was to write EPIC LONGFIC "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" for her, but that fizzled thanks to writing angst, and then my attempt to write the 'Dave Sheppard has to deal with John/Teyla' fic "My Brother's Keeper" went bye-byes so this was it.

There was a second part to 'Widow's Pique' planned - one which features Elizabeth's court in its full glory and deals with Michael, Kanaan, and John/Teyla. I started with a basic romance plot and then about 18 months ago, reshuffled the plot to be EPIC. *coughs* I don't think it will ever be written, though.
