Sorry. I'm just watching the opening scene again. And I really have to let my inner shipper off the leash to squee.
I was nice and restrained on other people's journals. Really, I was. I was polite. I smiled and nodded. I glee'd when it came to the team (who were the definition of cute and adorable and so very loyal to each other - even if I didn't mention the team-ness in my last post). But I didn't squee.
I really, really, have to squee. It's like the Adama/Roslin shippers the other week - you know it's going to all go bum-end up pretty soon, so you gotta squee while you got 'em!
I. Love. This. Because, darlings, this is all in John's head, being made up by his subconscious. He's providing the candles, the wine, the admissions, the cues. The night is going the way he wants it to go, cued by a side of him he doesn't usually let out to play. He wants this quiet time with Teyla - and he wants her to want the quiet moments between them, too. And, what I find very amusing, is that John plays the gentleman and offers her an early night while what he really wants is for Teyla to invite him in to 'thank him properly'!
Which, I guess, depicts the way John and Teyla work their relationship quite perfectly: he lets her set the intimacy level and he stands by it.
I am a happy little shipper at this moment. My gen f-list can be reassured: it will pass - it always does! But in the meantime, I am gleeful and squeeful and a happy little vegemite!
ZOMG! SQUEE!
And, right on cue, here come the plotbunnies!
Ack!

And just 'cause I don't share the ship doesn't mean I can't be happy for you. I know how happy I am when I get something cool for one of my ships :)

I just tend to feel a bit silly getting excited about something that very few other people get visibly excited about.

I find it hilarious that it was John who was thinking in terms of being properly thanked.
He's so frozen. But when he's bleeding out and knocked out he's girly girl relaxing with his main squeeze.
This is the guy that loves Ferris wheels. :D

John really does have a hero complex at the heart of it - one to match Joe Flanigan's one (he sounded very disappointed to have to explain to his son that daddy didn't actually get into a jumper and fly away to another galaxy to save the universe - he just pretended to)!
Still, back in the Stargate Universe, one wonders how many times John was 'properly thanked' in a ferris wheel car. ;)

At least this means I can watch it with you guys when it comes on. :D
I'm sorry to see Sam go but I hope we'll get more of Teyla, Ronon, Keller and Lorne in the future.
Yeah, that is a bummer, although here's hoping for more Team!

That beginning was really, cool because it was all in John's head.
Quiet times alone? Wine? All dressed up very formal like. And in John's head Teyla was very receptive to the mood and she tells him how much these times 'alone' are her favorite.
As you said John's "you have an early night" was right out of the gentlemen handbook.
Then the end, and the naming of the baby. See Ronon and Rodney both made hints about wanting the child named after them--yet she names him after John.
I was happy for you as I know a lot of people were happy for me and my Ronon and John bonding/angsting together scenes.

TIELAN!! You got some splaining to do!! Talk to me girl.
*brings her flowers and candy in a big heart-shaped box with a photo of John and Teyla in each other's arms*
Pleeeeeeeeeease!
Wait! What? She names the baby after John? *stares open mouthed like a giant guppy* Talk to me, Tie!

It was a very enjoyable episode to watch. Definitely one to watch again when it shows on TV!

And I thought it was sweet that John said he would have carried her, but he was injured in his side.

Although the squee has faded a little from my moment of extreme glee on Saturday morning. Still... :D
*breathes carefully*
Now, back to writing my SGA Big Bang story!

I just had to squee. And I did too.
Though I had to keep it down becaue everyone else was asleep.

It was cuteness - and John's expression was so adorable, too.
