I got a John/Teyla fic for the
sga_santa challenge! And it's well-written and team-y and detailed but it's also delicately John/Teyla and this makes me happy.
HAPPY.
The Truth About Alliances
Teamfic, with John/Teyla. It's politics and not action-based, and it's awesome. (I might have gotten a little effusive in the comments.) There's politics and alliances and explanations for how Atlantis has behaved, and why things are so difficult for them in Pegasus. It's all layered in the wonderfully complex nature of interaction and alliance and people and culture and gives reasons and rationalities for a lot of things that have always jarred me about the nature of the Atlantis expedition in Pegasus.
And, best of all, the John/Teyla is subtle and in the background, delicate and nuanced but still very much there amidst the team dynamics.
I was prepared to go to bed depressed. Now I don't have to!
