rec: world, put on pause by [profile] vixys

It's a zombie apocalypse, and this one isn't done for the funny. It's poignant and painful, Teyla and John h/c - emotional whump more than physical, although the physical is definitely there. It's beautifully written, both spare and rich. Sadness, anguish, pain, loss - all done beautifully. Warning for major character deaths, and gore and violence, and a lot of pain and no 'fixit' at the end.

I am seriously looking forward to the scene in the SGA: Legacy book 'Secrets' where Rodney sees Teyla for the first time after they haven't seen each other for a while. SERIOUSLY LOOKING FORWARD TO OMG.

Icons, banners, and whatnot to make. Have received a request for some smirky Rodney icons. On consideration, smirky Rodney expressions? Not that difficult to find. The problem is getting the good ones...

Shows to watch this coming long weekend (thereby requiring me to d/l them beforehand):
- Rizzoli and Isles
- Undercovers
- Merlin S3 (is it any good? ie. has Gwen turned up yet? Should I spoil myself, or should I stay pristinely unaware for the moment? Will I need hand-holding? Encouragement? Squee?)

I think, between those two, I should be well-covered. Anyone going to be around from 11am Saturday, AEST who's watching these shows who'll be available to chat?

Early Saturday morning, though, (ie. 7am onwards) was to be the Good Food Markets in Pyrmont. Goooood foooood.

I saw Undercovers yesterday. The male lead (Boris Kudjoe) needs work but I'm already in love with his co-star, Gugu Mbatha-Raw. And no wonder - she played Martha Jones' sister, Tish, in Doctor Who. She kicks major ass.

The pilot was a touch clunky but if they can keep up with it, then the show overall has a lot of things going for it.

Episode 2 is this week (Wednesday night here in the states) so yes, you're right at the ground floor.
