*coughs*
Um, so...I just bought $350USD worth of quilting fabric off Ebay.
It was cheap! (as in fat quarter bundles for $25 instead of $40) And even the postage is pretty manageable.
A lot of batiks in this mix. So there'll be a lot of batik quilts coming out from it. (It's okay, I like batiks...)
So, because of the massive influx of material...I'm challenging myself to make 12 quilts in 2011 - bedspread-sized, not just lap quilts! Whether I can do it? Another matter entirely!
1. Scrappy Mountain Madness - harvest fabrics
2. Diced nine-patch - R Kaufman Imperial collection
3. Diamonds (from nine-patch book) - batik FQs
4. wonky stripes - batik strips
5. Magic Squares - use yardages (broken dishes/spinner block - find a strip-piecing way to make spinner block)
6. Sudoku quilt - scraps
7. scrappy stars - scraps
8. bow ties - scraps&squares
9. cathedral windows (stack a new deck) - batik FQs
10. string quilt (scraps)
11. Old Maid's Puzzle
12. arkansas crossroads
I think that some of them (*cough*OldMaid'sPuzzleArkansasCrossroads*cough*) should probably be made in bits and pieces along the way, and stored in their own personal storage box. 'Cos they're gonna get tricksy to do, I think.
I really have to work out how to make Half-Square Triangle Blocks that are neat and precise and fit together nicely. Or maybe I need to sew slower. I do tend to be in a hurry when quilting...
Also, I have some lovely Christmas fabric, and I think I'm going to try to make pieced table-runners for Mum and the aunts for Christmas. Not much time, but I don't think (hah) it'll be too complicated...
(famous last words)
*wonders if she's going to sleep between now and New Year*
*doubts it*
