I have to tell someone, even if it's only a half-handful:

I hit ~8,500 words today. Probably at least another 3K to go, but I'm pretty sure I've got it down. It just needs writing. (Doesn't it always?)

That section felt really painful - the length of time it took me to crawl from 6K to 8.5K...
