I'm going to be kind of posty with recs today.

Yes, the Emma and Agents of SHIELD recs are different to the ones I made yesterday!

#knemma - Emma (Jane Austen) - Emma/Knightley
Emma W
you know, you set really high standards
for the men in my life
GK
What?
Emma W
I guess this is how Tom Hiddleston’s little sister feels
if he has one.
GK
I guess.

This is hilarious. And accurate. And hilarious. And incredibly clever. It's basically "Emma" updated for the social media world - specifically Twitter and Tumblr - and the fannish world of BNFs. I recced this to my sister who isn't fannish and didn't get half the fannish references and she loved it.

Sometimes we call it feeling alive - Almost Human - John & Dorian
John hasn't set foot in a church in years.
A story that touches on a lot of the little ethical questions brought into play by having androids, particularly those that are programmed to 'feel' like humans - do they have faith? Belief? What kind of relationship do they have with the church, with the Deity, with the afterlife? I guess this has never really been adequately addressed in the stuff I've read before - from the "skinjob" Cylons of BSG 2003 to the Replicators of the Stargate universe, and I'm always a little curious about other peoples' takes on it.

In The Belly Of The Bus - Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. - various agents
A series of snapshots from the team's first few months together.
Because it's full of hilarity and the joy of the characters being themselves. Unfortunately, it's mis-labelled - there's neither Maria Hill, nor Maria & Melinda friendship in it (which is why I clicked on it in the first place) but it's a highly entertaining romp through various missions, interactions, and situations that makes for a damn good laugh!

A Saucer Of Milk - Melinda May, Maria hill, Jemma Simmons, Natasha Romanov, and Skye.
Melinda remembers when Maria Hill and Jemma Simmons came to S.H.I.E.L.D. and she was there when Coulson and Barton brought Natasha Romanov in from the cold. But Coulson's latest stray is nothing like any of those women, and Melinda isn't sure that's such a good thing.
A story about women working with women - about Melinda May and her estimations of the various women of S.H.I.E.L.D. Love the dynamics, love the 'mentoring' touch, love...well, all of it!
