I didn't do this in 2012 - I think I just pointed people at my AO3 account. But it's kind of nice to have it all in one spot, and I'd kind of like to start using my DW/LJ again after letting everything lapse. Tumblr is all very well, but sometimes you want a thinky conversation with people!

thinky thoughts
So, this year, I discovered just how big kidfic could be. My biggest hitcount is "And Baby Makes Eight" which is the "Maria Hill has a daughter and the Avengers kind of adopt her and her daughter" story and which seemed to hit a hot buttons for a lot of people.
It's been hard to write Maria/Steve - and a little depressing. I have 20K to 'The Right Hand Knows Not' but I'd say that this section is going to be at least 25K and the entire story is going to be easily in the realm of 80K. Also: it's hard to keep writing something I know won't get more than 50 reader responses - and also because several ideas that I had for the story have been used in the MCU or Agents of SHIELD storylines.
I ended up in Pacific Rim fandom almost entirely on the strength of Mako Mori/Raleigh Becket, but am once again struggling to find more writers for that pairing. It was really popular in the earliest days of the fandom, but it's kind of faded back now, and everyone's all over the slash. Which, as most of you know, isn't a priority for me.
But Pacific Rim is a shrinking fandom - it hit its peak about two months after it first screened in the US and has been in steady decline since then. So...who knows where I'll end up next?
