TITLE: A Distinctive Woman
SUMMARY: He enjoys the pleasure of possession.
CATEGORY: vignette
RATING: R - probably a hard PG-13, actually
SPOILERS: The Storm/The Eye
NOTES: This was the first in a series of five ficlets about Elizabeth - a counterpoint to my fic: "Five Men Who Never Wanted Teyla Emmagen." I just never managed to get past Kolya's POV - his section was so visceral that the others just seemed blah by comparison. In the meantime, since I have at least one Elizabeth/Kolya fan on my f-list (I think), it seems a shame to let this go to waste.

A Distinctive Woman

She's a distinctive woman.

He enjoys the pleasure of possession.

He thrusts a little harder into her body, reminding her who is the master and who is the captive.

Green eyes wince above the gag that keeps her from speech. Her teeth clench, but no sound escapes her throat - not even a whimper. Strong-willed for all her captivity, a prisoner of which to be proud.

Kolya grins as he presses her down into the mattress, intent on pleasure. He digs his hands into her curls, brown with reddish tints, hauling back on her head so he can nip at the flesh of her throat. The skin there holds scars, old with the reminders of possession.

He likes reminding her of who possesses her. He wants to remind her of what she is. He wants to remember the taste of victory - before it was snatched from him by another.

Later, as he stalks back down the road to the Ring of the Ancestors, he reflects that there is nothing as bitter as a victory almost gained.

The whore doesn't make up for what he has lost, but she'll do until he has the real thing beneath him.

And he will.

Over Major Sheppard's dead body, perhaps, but he will.

Kolya remembers the feel of her waist beneath his hand, the desperation that clung to her as he dragged her towards the Ring of the Ancestors. The damp curls of her hair brushed his cheek and in spite of the seriousness of the situation, he felt desire coil in his groin, anticipating the feel of her beneath him.

A shot in the shoulder changed all that.

He lost his privilege, his status among the Gennii for failing to take what no-one else would have dared to even try. For being 'reckless' with the lives of his soldiers - and possibly too ambitious for Cowen's comfort - he'd been demoted, reprimanded, and put out of sight and out of mind.

Commander Kolya is forgotten with reasonable ease by Cowen.

Dr. Weir is more difficult for Kolya to forget.

A faint smile touches his mouth. He would have killed her if necessity required it, but her death would have been a waste. She had intelligence and an elegant beauty, her eyes not-quite-veiling her thoughts as he took over her city. He'd been pleased with her spirit, but contemptuous of her ability to physically resist his handling.

Hindsight is perfect, and he bitterly regrets the moments that he spent exchanging taunts with Sheppard. If he'd gotten her through the Ring of the Ancestors, then her presence would have brought him leverage from Cowen and a personal satisfaction in her taking.

As Vergor punches in the address for their current home planet, Kolya rubs his fingers gently against each other, remembering the feel of her skin. He ran his fingers down her nape just once during those tense, damp hours; pleased to see her flinch at his touch. And he smiled, just for a moment, savouring his triumph before walking away, leaving her shaken.

He hopes that, occasionally, she dreams of him and wakes up in a pearl of sweat. Terror isn't desire, but it has its intoxication for an old fighter like Kolya.

The Ring of the Ancestors opens, and he steps into the disembodying whirl.

She's a distinctive woman.

He'll enjoy the pleasure of having her.
