Wonder Woman movie was many shades of excellent. A++ would go again.
JSYK!
eta: I won't be spoiling in the comments, and I'll ask other people not to spoil the movie either, pls.

I mean I was going to go see it in the theatre even if it sucked, but I'm getting really hopeful based on the good reviews and how many friends liked it. It'll make up for how much I didn't like GotG2, hopefully.

It has nuance and character development and realism and it handles Diana really well. (Okay, and I'm just a touch tickled by the way it opens and finishes given my Justice League proclivities.)
Plus, Themiscyra is beautiful and the women are amazing and athletic (no Asians, though *pouts*). And if I keep going much longer, I'm going to spoil the whole thing. :)
DAMMIT I NEED ICONS.

And I grew up with Wonder Woman and loved the cartoons and TV show and have just basically been waiting for this my entire life, so.

And honestly, this is the DCCU's saving grace - they've done what Marvel wouldn't: headlined a superhero movie with a female lead, and done it on the back of a string of failures rather than success after success after success.
So I am tentatively hopeful that WW will be considered a success - even if only by DC.

You're exactly right, that's a big thing -- and it sucks that that can be considered a big thing, that the culture's still that fucked up. And when you contrast it with Feige saying we'll never get a Black Widow standalone (probably because ScarJo costs more than they want to pay an actress) and Marvel completely fucking up re merchandising too.
