I was a cable guy for 10 years; I saw the worst of America

This is eye-opening and terrifying, from the guy whose wife begged her to do whatever it took to get Fox News on so he at least had 'Obummer' to be angry at, to the innate sexism of the job and the key performance indicators - even little things like guys not having to go to the toilet means they spend less time detouring to find a public toilet.

zucchini pickles

I grew what I thought was a zucchini. It turned out to be a marrow. But it still makes spectacular pickles, and this recipe is DA BOMB. Now I have to work out how (and where) to store the excess so we have some come winter...

God sent Trump to be King

This is terrifying.

I read that cable article a few days ago and it was disturbing. Funny but in a dark way. The woman who had a man in her basement was funny - "as long as you don't have kids locked in a cage", um.... :/

OMG! I read that "Cable Guy" article today! Great article.

And I thought my previous two jobs were the pits...

The Trump as King article scares the crap out of me if only because it dovetails a lot what I saw in born again movement here in the states as a kid and then as a young adult in 80s. The melding state power with state religion is almost inevitable. The fact that so many evangelicals are down for it doesn't surprise me as much as it should.
