It's not terrible cramps, but I'm not sleeping enough, I'm not feeling great, and I'd like a day to just finish up stuff on this story.
It's a convergence of reasons adding up to a sick day. Which I won't get paid for because: contractor.

I did see Captain Marvel for the 2nd time last night, went to the local indie which is having the last week when they're showing it evenings, and it's better the second time. Also: the showing was a cinema for several hundred and there were six people including me - four of them were guys (one was a guy on a date). So I am encouraged.
It's not a very popular cinema: the big-screen multiplex in the shopping centre on the other side of the station gets most of the custom - it's new, fancy, accessible, and fancily up-to-date. But this cinema is cheap and not crowded and indie, so I like to support it.

Debating whether to US spelling or UK spelling for other side of infinity. Does it matter to you? Will it matter to my regular readers who are surely accustomed to my Aussie spelling and language foibles? Am I likely to get people clicking in to this story who don't usually read my stuff, and will my spelling put them off?

Usually I just go with Australian/UK spelling and it's fine, although I did have someone once tell me that they read my characters with an 'Aussie' accent when I did that, which...okay.
I try to keep the phrasing according to the characters' background though, which means Americans use flashlight, elevator, and hood, while Brits use torch, lift, and bonnet. But, yeah, it can get interesting.

Captain Marvel gets better every time! I saw it three times.
Spelling variants don't matter to me, but I get mocked all the time because I absorbed British spellings of a few words (theatre, favourite) from reading Dickens too young and finally got tired of correcting myself. Hah.

And, as I said above, I find the mockery over different spelling in literature circles very small minded. Like, comedian jokes about it on the stage can be amusing, but it's like "this is how we learned to right, just because it's not correct in America (and it's always Americans mocking the extra 'U' when it comes to writing whether fanfic or profic) doesn't mean it's not valid currency elsewhere".
