Catch And Kiss

She can outrun every boy her own age on Athos, but Ladon Radim keeps up with her, only panting a little when they pause by the stream to take a drink.

Teyla flicks droplets across the surface of the water, watching the ripples vanish in the eddys and currents. She flinches when a spatter of water hits her cheek and bare shoulder, and glares at the grinning young man crouched down by the water, wobbling a little.

Her swipe of water hits Ladon square in the chest, wetting his shirt, and making him gasp with the cold. "You're going to pay for that, Teyla..."

"If you can catch me," she taunts, laughing as she dodges his lunge, ducking under his arm and spinning him off behind her.

Still, he moves like an eel, turning neatly on his heel where another opponent would take longer to return to the fray, and plunging back in.

It is only play-fighting; Ladon has not the training in staves and weapons and body that Teyla has acquired - the Genii are a peaceful people, given to farming and trade. But he has a few lucky almost-catches, even if it is little effort to keep out of his grasp.

She is still laughing as he finally manages to trip her up and they land in the leaves, face to face, hip to hip.

Ladon is still grinning as his mouth comes down on hers, and Teyla smiles as she kisses him back.

She does not run from this.
