If you were dictator of your country, what would you do?
Install socialism for the basics, capitalism for the luxuries. Anything over $999 million dollars is annexed for the country. Australian fossil fuel resources would be heavily taxed (at least twenty-five percent profit) and if the stuff is on First Nations land, fuggedabouddit, buddy. A UBI will cover the poverty line and would be indexted to inflation.
I'd put rebates and benefits in place for households willing to reduce their ecological footprint, straighten out building codes so they're ecologically friendly, and tax investment properties. Housing is now a roof over your head, not a money making investment. Also, modify laws so there are more opportunities for things like share-housing.
Pour money into schooling and education, science and universities. More schools built. Raise the Medicare bulk billing amount for doctors and add dentists to Medicare. Start a Stay At Home Parent living allowance (ie. if you choose to stay at home rather than work, then you get a basic allowance indexed to inflation).
Anything calling itself 'news' is required to be factually accurate (or, at least, reasonably provable), and if not, then the word 'entertainment' will be shadowed across every one of their screencasts. Oh, and the ethnic makeup of your visual media anchors MUST reflect the ethnic makeup of Australia's last census, rounded up for anyone who isn't identifying as 'White Australian'. No exceptions. If you can't find anchors who aren't white, then you're not allowed to go to air.
All current refugees in detention are granted temporary visas, which allow them to live in the community and find work to support themselves. If there are any that are willing to 'reality TV' themselves, then they can do that - so long as the media company is paying them.
Gender quotas in corporations and politics.
Education about sustainability and permaculture and how to reduce energy use, not just 'switch to renewables'.
Punishment for white-collar/financial crimes will involve taking on physically exhausting and dirty work for the length of their sentencing. Hard labour rather than paying a fine. Or the fine is a percentage of the yearly income?
What could you do a 40-minute presentation on with no (or very little) preparation?
