Christmas Day is still up in the air: parentals are still down with COVID, getting better by slow degrees.

Okay, correction: Christmas Day is happening everywhere else. So, the parentals aren't making plans because they don't know if they'll be out of COVID yet. Aunt/Uncle #2 are having their kids/kids' partners up at their place 1 hour away, we haven't been invited (yet). Aunt/Uncle #4 are going to be down at Cousin N's place with his wife's family on Xmas Day, with Cousin A (youngest of their kids) spending Xmas Day with her boyfriend. We are, again, not invited - largely because the cousins were mindful that we might be having family Xmas with the parentals & stepbro.

So, I'm now contemplating Xmas Day, wondering what to do. Boxing Day will be with parentals, and I don't really want to double up if there's not going to be any change in attendance.

I recently joined an FB group that's intended for support to Aussie queers, particularly those who struggle to find/keep family/friends (not all of us have fandom). I was thinking maybe hold an Xmas Day BBQ for those who are alienated from their families but would like to spend their Xmas Day with other people?

IDEK.

I have reinstated the 'Summer Salon Series' and hope that this year it won't get stopped by COVID or anything.

The BBQ thing sounds like a great idea to me!

A BBQ sounds good.
