It's mostly just that EVERYTHING is going on right now.

Work? Go-Live in less than a month.
Hockey? Season has just begun!
Garden? Harvest from summer, and prep for winter.
Electioneering? Three weeks to go!

My brain is barely able to process the present moment, there's almost no room for writing creativity right now. I spend my spare time playing CivII, reading, or taking naps. That's all I have the energy for after I discharge my responsibilities above.

I mean, it's already Thursday, but let me tell you about the week past...

I think I had a quiet Saturday morning. I'm not entirely sure, it's all a blur now. Saturday lunchtime I did have work, and Saturday afternoon I had a salon appointment for my hair.

Sunday morning I did some electioneering at a local market. Sunday lunchtime I logged on...to discover that as a matter of fact, I wasn't needed for the testing that was being done. BLOODY HELL. So I explained why I wasn't needed, and logged off, and went to hockey.

Two games of hockey. Then dinner out at the local club.

Monday morning was sore and tiring. Luckily I could WFH.

Lately, I've made the decision to just work from home, no notice given. There are a bunch of people who are supposed to be working in the office and they're not doing so. I have access, and since I can WFH, I think I will. I should probably go into the office at least once a week, but without the usual people whose company I really enjoyed, I feel a little...solitary. Ironically, rather worse than I did while WFH during the pandemic!

Anyway, this week got a little more busy when I got called in for the campaign, to assist with a group who were going to help us out with an ESL group in the electorate. I don't speak Mandarin or Cantonese, but I am racially East Asian (and am more accustomed to listening to people who only half-understand English, and who are trying to either get a message across, or understand what I'm saying). That said, once one woman worked out what was needed, she started explaining it to the others. Apparently, she's had experience in local council elections, and knows what to do. Good-oh!

Hockey training was on, although we don't have a game this weekend (Easter) or next (ANZAC day).

Bible study is off - school holidays, so I went doorknocking and saw a physio about the pain my body was in. It hurt after, but damn today I feel so much better!

Tomorrow is Good Friday and we're doing dinner with Mum. Saturday there's a volunteers BBQ, and Sunday supper at church.

..I don't think I have anything on Monday. And I won't schedule anything either. I might just sleep through the day or something. (Although I'll probably end up gardening. This is me, after all...)

As I said, writing has completely stalled. IDK if it's just that it's easier to start playing CivII and let myelf be dragged away by the game...

Thank you for all your election work! ^_^

I saw this ABC article today:

More multilingual staff to be deployed to reduce high levels of informal votes

Australia's voting system can cause barriers for first-time voters whose first language is not English, leaving many confused and unsure at the ballot box.
