Both to Avril Lavigne's song Girlfriend.

1. SGA: [livejournal.com profile] nicole9514 - here and in this post to get the motivations of the vidder and so you don't make judgement calls on either her or me.
2. SG1: Nibikko - here

They're both well done, but the SG1 is fan-bloody-tastic!

I adore the SG-1 one. It always brings a smile to my face. And then I growl, because I am annoyed that a song so wretched must be so damn catchy. :)

In the interest of being...fair, I will admit that I watched approximately 45 seconds of the SGA vid. Enough time to see the "You can do so much better" featuring Elizabeth, anyway. And then I stopped because I don't agree. I will, however, say that had it been Chaya, that girl from "The Tower" or...anyone, really, I would have kept watching (which is what the SG-1 one is...although that clip with Kerri does make me a tad uncomfortable). I like to think that I would feel the same if the vid had been about Elizabeth, featuring Teyla in the "you can do so much better" parts. A lot of it is the song, really, but it's sort of the vid equivalent of Character Bashing in a fic, which always makes me stop reading.

(as usual, I say this with utmost respect for you and your opinions, I am just keeping the conversation going)

It's fair enough. The song itself makes me uncomfortable...I dislike meanness, so there's kind of no way to win. I mean, I adore the SG-1 vid, but during the "she's so stupid" parts (etc) I look away and feel guilty and such. That's what makes me think I'd feel just as bad if Teyla were the third wheel.

Well, I'm highly amused by both of them. I do have vested interest in S/J and she did a great job with clips and lyrics.

As you know I'm not really invested in SGA, but the vidder did a great job, I loved the Teyla and John practice bouts, they fit great with the song, and having Lizzie in the psycho ward worked great for the "you can do better"

Thanks for sharing :).
