I'm still travelling in China, and will be doing so until the 11th February.

Unfortunately, China doesn't like LJ and has blocked off my access from it. I can post through the wonders of mobile posting and an email account, but I can't see any LJ entries, and I can't reply directly to comments. Apparently the 'reply' feature in the comment emails is contingent on executing some kind of script which needs to access an LJ website...eh, it probably gets technical after that! I'll spare you!

In the meantime, while I'm working this out, my posts may be less-than-perfect in HTML programming. As regards community posts, I'm looking at getting the posts deleted and reposted if possible, otherwise they'll just sit there, blackening my HTML reputation with each passing day... :)

So I can't see your posts, and I can't reply to your comments although I can see them! So keep commenting! It's nice to hear from people and not feel like I'm severed from all fannish contact!

Incidentally, for those who saw the post a few days ago with casting speculation about Teyla, I'm in email contact with JM and asking about that now, getting some clarifications about her role in S5. Let's hope we get a favourable answer!

Clearly, I've been in China too long. They're big on 'favourable' and 'auspicious' and 'fortunate' and 'lucky'. It's extremely different to the Western world and the Western mindset. I've never been to the Middle East, India/Pakistan, or South East Asia, (other than HK, which is so British, it's rather like being in Chinatown, Sydney), but China is so far from Australia, the US, and Europe in thought and mindset and history...it's a real eye-opener!

Hey, sorry for the LJ problems. When I went to another state, I had to use my PocketPC for LJ. It was difficult. You are in another country...I feel for you!

I know you may not be able to respond, but you can read this. I want to hear more about the differences you are experienceing! Tell me of your eye-opening experiences in your next post if you can.

*sends waves of happy thoughts*

This is less a fannish support (since I'm behind on my SGA), but more of a "hope things are going well in China, since I've seen a lot of reports about snow and panicking at train stations" kind of comment.

*hugs*

There's an article on GW with some speculation and some spoilers for the S5 premiere: http://www.gateworld.net/news/2008/02/first_details_on_iatlantisis_sea.shtml Can you get there?

POSSIBLE SPOILERS IN THIS COMMENT, GUYS.

There's been talk around that it will be Carter who will have reduced involvement with the series due to her work on 'Sanctuary'. I saw a mention of a possible new expedition leader too somewhere.

But the GateWorld article linked above really worries me about Teyla if this Cpt. Porter stays around. I hope JM will be able to reassure us on that count.

LJ issues aside, are you enjoying your trip? Travelling around China sounds like it would be a really amazing experience.

*keeps her fingers crossed for good Teyla news*
