It seems that my [community profile] homemade2homemade swap has gone missing in the post, and I foolishly forgot that the Royal Mail is full of assholes who think nothing of opening packages and stealing what's inside (this makes 3 times I've lost a package through Royal Mail), and didn't get tracking.

So I get to make another one all over again!!!!

I'll be making the replacement in October, mostly because it was a lot of work the first time, it's spring in my garden, and I've just started a six week contract under a new manager and it's proving 'interesting'.

Plus, I'm currently halfway through a challenge of "100 days, 100 blocks" for the Tula Pink City Sampler, and if I don't finish this, then I won't ever get it done.

quilt blocks for anyone who's interested )

I feel like I've lost quilting mojo (or "sewjo" as the mom-punners like calling it) in the last year. I still enjoy it, but the garden needs more attention right now - I'm in that 'been gearing up to go, but it's about to hit peak and is everything ready to rumble?' stage when things require attention and work. Plus, chickens are an effort and a half.

It's just past 6am and the chooks are making early morning wakeup noises.

I'm helping out my gardening group with their website. Just a few small modifications and clean-up (that's the plan, anyway).

When I went over last night to the lady who's been doing the 'webadmin' for the last year or two for a handover, though, she mentioned that next gardening meeting they were going to have members talk briefly about tips and advice on something they were good at growing. I commented that I wasn't very good at growing anything at all (except maybe weeds), but then I realised that the things that do SPECTACULARLY WELL on my piece of land are...stone fruit trees.

possibly a bit gardening technical )
