Won the goalie game 3-0 (lovely final goal off a short corner in 'aftertime' - where the time has run out, but a short corner still has to be played out), lost the field game 2-1.
I did pretty much nothing in either of them. Okay, so, maybe I did. But I feel like I did very little.
I blocked two goals - one where one player got past all our defense and into the circle, and I ran out. She tried to hit it at me and it rebounded off my pads back out into the quarter and the backs took it from there. So, not nothing.
In the field game, I ran around, touched the ball twice, but we were missing our usual centre half, who's really good at delivering to both sides of the field, and so it ended up going to the other side of the field a lot. Or maybe they just didn't want to pass to me.
It was a strong team, we'll come up against them again in the finals, I'm sure.
I wasn't at my best. My back is sore again, and my feet were not happy campers by the end of the game. I need to make an appointment with the podiatrist again for more supportive inserts (or another set of inserts), and I also need to actually do the 5K program, at least twice a week, plus training and games.
