TITLE: Feint
SUMMARY: Teyla faints.
CATEGORY: vignette, challenge
RATING: G
DISCLAIMER: Not mine, making no money, etc, etc, etc.
NOTES: Written for the John and Teyla Yahoogroups "5 minute fic challenge" to the prompt of "Teyla fainted and John leapt for her." Someday, I want to see a fic where John faints.
Feint
Teyla fainted and John leaped for her, dragging himself out of the rough hands of the guards and catching her as she fell.
A moment later, he realised that her eyes were open. Then he felt the weapon's grip in his hand, and knew what she intended him to do.
She'd judged them well. Their attention had been on disarming him, Ronon, and Rodney - it hadn't occurred to them that she might be carrying more weapons than merely the P-90. Or perhaps there were social codes that prohibited male guards from searching female prisoners. Whichever it was, they hadn't searched her for hidden weapons, and they didn't try to stop him from going to her.
Stupid of them.
A moment and four shots later, the guards were down, and Ronon was stripping them of their weapons.
Teyla held up her hand for a boost, and John switched the stunner to his left hand and hauled her up. "That," he said, holding onto her hand for a moment longer, "was clever."
The smile quirked the corner of her mouth as she tilted her head at him, the sunlight glinting honey off her hair. "I know."
