He asked? That's a bit of a change from previous seasons when he wanted to keep things neutral.

You know, I can't help but wonder if the slash scared him. It tends to do that.

Heh. Well, I wouldn't blame him if it did. The slash scares me in this fandom, and it's not even about me!

Since he decided last season to play John as totally jealous over Teyla's pregnancy, I wonder if maybe he decided that a romantic arc was a good way to go for some of that character development the writers always make him beg for. Who knows? I guess we'll just have to wait and see. *hates being patient*

Heh. I have been saying for at least the last half-season that the only time we get character development in John is when he's teamed up with either Ronon or Teyla.

And we do get to see more of his personal side and his history in his dealings with Teyla than with any other character.

That's very true. She's always struck me as someone who's so easy to talk to, you find yourself opening up about things you normally wouldn't (which for John is, like, everything!). And she never makes you regret it.

Do you read the tie-in novels? I think you'd like the one called Casualties of War. It's got a lot of Elizabeth and Teyla being awesome and there's a nice bit of John opening up to Teyla like that at the end. Also, like we were talking about a while ago about Teyla and Ronon being so much more well adjusted than John, Teyla and Ronon do a nice little tag team on John at the end to talk him down from the edge, so to speak.

I'm a bit cynical about the tie-in novels, so, no, I haven't read any of them.
