porn writing FAIL

I'm trying to write for some of the early Porn Battle prompts that have gone up. Operative word is trying.

For some reason, any characters I have lately attempted to write sex scenes for refuse to have sex without scenarios. Backstory. Character development. Short epicness. As compared to long epicness. *looks grimly at several WIP longfics in the works*

Try some kinkmeme prompts instead? They usually come with more detailed scenarios. Or combine the two.

Well, porn is often better with a little bit of story attached, IMO. But yeah, epic and porn battle don't really go together so well. I sympathize--I keep thinking of stories and going "that would be so cool...but it would be so LONG." I don't know; maybe it's best to sign up for a big bang and commit.

Or as gaffsie suggests, steal and tweak some kinkmeme prompts.

Oh dear. It looks like you are a writer of well-rounded and developed characters who have lives and sex with meaning! Quality, rearing it's complicated head in your PWP!

Seriously, I think your troubles say good things about you as a writer and a person that you see these people as people and not just as one-dimensional actors in a scene. But it's still as frustrating as can be when all you want to produce just now is some simple smut.

I've been having a bunch of issues writing smut lately as well. Not that it generally needs BACKSTORY per se.... but the smut just doesn't seem to want to happen.

More implied smut.
