Spoiler link over at [livejournal.com profile] teylafen

It's about time! I mean, yes, women throw themselves at Shep, and once or twice, Rodney, but what is it with the lack of women undressing for Ronon, or the guys even dropping a smile at Teyla?

The actual scene itself will probably be very minor in the story, but hell, when it comes to screentime, Teyla is overlooked, ignored, sidelined, or dismissed. I'm excited that Teyla's going to 'get a boyfriend' in Stargate parlance (although IMAO those guys who smiled at Sam Carter were not boyfriends, no matter how stupid people got over the whole Black Widow fiasco) as much because it means a leetle more screentime in that ep, as because even if there isn't show-angst, I can do.

As most people should have worked out by now and if you haven't, where have you been all this time? I'm totally a fan of the John/Teyla pairing. Canon or no, I love them, think they go together like strawberries and chocolate, and abso-blooming-lutely adore when the shippy bits come along. Oh, come on, tell me you don't get excited when your OTP gets scenes or lines that can be interpreted your way. I wouldn't mind seeing them in-show, but expectation and me parted company back on SG-1. And it's not the canon attitude to John/Teyla that infuriates me half so much as the fandom attitude.

Anyway, I'm excited! *glees*

I'm sure I'll calm down soon, or people will throw cold water on me. But today is writing day and I needed this... I'm all hyped now. :)

ETA: it seems like nobody actually has the faintest idea what's going on here. On one hand, there's the interpretation that Teyla has to explain to one of her team-mates that she has feelings for a man (not one of her team-mates) or she has to explain to a guy who's interested in her that she has feelings for someone else (may or may not be one of her team-mates).

I find that by-and-large, SGA fandom is pretty cool, but there is a tendency to ignore other 'ships besides one's own. You might have even found people to be wanky about it, I wouldn't put it past fandom. But I really like John/Teyla even though I'm a John/Rodney fan, for the most part. In fact, one of my favorite writers who also writes McShep and Jack/Daniel, etc., wrote an incredible John/Teyla for [livejournal.com profile] peg_b. I think the two of them go together in so many different ways and it's quite easy to see where that ship would really work.

I haven't heard anything about the spoiler you mention but it sounds very exciting.

*wryly* Certainly don't put it past this one!

OMG! I'm running from the wank! *runs*

Okay. I don't know if you're at all familiar with the [livejournal.com profile] pegasus_b galaxy/community, but here is a link to the user info, i.e. how it all started: http://community.livejournal.com/pegasus_b/profile

Then. People wrote an AU of this AU. Stay with me. So the stories featuring John/Teyla are in the AU called "Pegasus Ba'al." (http://community.livejournal.com/pegasus_b/35705.html) - scroll down the list to Pegasus Ba'al.

Fair warning: They are fairly dark. There is slash.

My recommendations that can be read as standalones.
First story that sets it up: Dark Moon, High Tide (http://www.tafkar.net/dmht.htm)
Second story that plays it out: Under a Broken Moon (http://dith.popullus.net/pegbstories/pegb-brokenmoon.html)

The second one is by [livejournal.com profile] raqs and it's quite fine, as are most of the fics connected with this universe. These fics are long and plotty and if you're okay with slash pairings as well, the John/Teyla really worked for me and was all kinds of angsty.

That's my rec, do what you will!

I think that in this case, the writing is strong enough for me to rec it and to hope that it fits your criteria for fic.

TWO MORE DAYS!
