I'm trying out Netvibes and I can't find the 'view unread only' option. Given that Netvibes apparently displays things by timestamp on post rather than by time Netvibes picks up on things (and therefore a 9:30am post that got picked up at 10:30 will display between the 9:15 and 9:35 posts that got picked up at 10:00, and therefore I have to scroll through bunches of read posts to find all the not-read posts), this is a problem.
Netvibes is the most highly recommended alternative RSS reader I've seen.
Hm. The disordered posting is going to be a big issue for me - seeing as I follow both Australian and American bloggers who are timestamping 12-18 hours apart, but blogging at the same time. :/
The blogs I read most (quilty, crafty blogs) are recommending Bloglovin' and Feedly. And there was another one I tried for a little while last year when Google was doing weird stuff to Reader, but I can't remember the name of it.
No probs. I'll take a look into Netvibes but if it doesn't order things by the time it receives the post notification, then it's not for me.
(And there's a part of me that thinks that's a very small-minded view for a blog notification system - to imagine that everyone blogs in the same timezone.)
