So my rough draft for [livejournal.com profile] heroinesbigbang is not due until the 25th. Which leaves me a little more time for writing than I thought I had - YAY!

Considering I want to finally write Pacific Rim: Watch The Queen Conquer, this is good. I can write half of it in the next ten days if I focus. ("If. If is good.")

But also crosses over with the start of A:AoU. Which I really have to book tickets to see at least once. Hm. I wonder if I can get cheap tickets...

I've been out of fandom for a couple of weeks, only really posting fic every now and then, not at all following the spoilers or the fannish flailing. It probably helps that there are not many storylines available to Maria that don't end up with her getting shafted - either killed off a la Coulson in Avengers (but obvs without TAHITI) - or else turned into a bad bitch for Civil War. (Because anyone who opposes superheroes in any way must be bad/wrong/evil.) When you're only really in the fandom for one character, that tends to limit your options.

Also, I am seriously incapable of finishing a Jupiter Ascending fic. Maybe I should try the "with wings" smutfic? Might have better luck with that...

A propos of nothing but the Avengers reference in your post, didcha see the latest Maria/Steve on the AO3? OF COURSE YOU DID. Just sharing the love.

I have tickets to a "marvel marathon": AA, CA:TWS, A:AoU next Wednesday evening. Start at 7pm, A:AoU starting just after midnight. I'm loving the chance to see the first two on the big screen again, and the price is less than twice the "normal" weekday evening ticket price, which definitely makes it a bargain.

I just don't know if I'm going to love Age of Ultron or be pissed off by it, and I'm not seeking out everything and anything about it like I did a year ago with CA:TWS (which spectacularly exceeded my expectations).

I mean, MCU have form for always doing better than I expect, so I'm hoping they'll do so again, but at least I'll find out as early as possible.

Separately, I managed to miss Jupiter Ascending in the cinemas, but I've got it preordered on DVD, and I'm carefully saving all the fic notifications from my subscribed authors for when I've actually seen it.

I'm taking the next morning off work (so this is costing me rather more than a cinema ticket really!) but from experience last year, I will get home about 3am, and the children will wake me about 6am and I am too old to get through a day of work on that little sleep.
