Pick the megapairing in a megafandom with multiple universes (eg. movie series plus multiple comic books) and say "Character A (any universe)/ Character B (specific universe)".

And this is pretty much one of the megaships of megafandoms. As in, if you pick the top ten megaships ever, this one will be right up there.

I was about to ask exactly the same question as beatrice_otter. I hate when people try to pull that kind of trickery in rare ship pairings. You have a megaship! It gets written a WHOLE LOT. Let it go and have fun playing in another pairing's sandbox for a while.

It'd be like asking for Jack/Daniel in a Stargate Rarepairings Ficathon. "But I want POV Jack with our universe Daniel!" Yeah, nope.

I think when Meesh and I were running sg_rarepairings (before I burned out on running ficathons), we pre-emptively banned every way you could game that system. No "David Hewlett Character X/Joe Flanigan Character Y or Torri Higginson Character Z/Joe Flanigan Character Y. And no AU Sam/Main Canon Jack or any variation on that.

I think it's because I've played so many roleplaying games that I expect people to game the systems that are in place, and Meesh is good-natured, but has been through the wringer in fandom a few times.
