I am starting to think that those most likely to enjoy Avengers: Age of Ultron are those who are a little geeky but not actively fannish in the MCU.
Most of my offline geek friends (or non-invested fans of the MCU) are very positive about the movie, but 90% of MCU fandom (people involved or invested in the MCU) are all KILL IT WITH FIRE.
Admittedly, this is because (as
alphaflyer astutely pointed out) MCU fandom has a lot invested in their headcanons, and the breaking/wrecking of it is causing major havoc and angst.

However, I certainly don't hate it and I was actively fearing that I might, so overall I have very positive feelings about it :-)

I guess I'm talking more about the early fannish viewers who propagated a KILL IT WITH FIRE attitude towards the film and a lot of the DESPAAAAAAIR that's running around the fandom as a result.
People are quite free not to like the movie or be disappointed with the canon, but to go in with an attitude of "I'm going to hate it" is really counterproductive, I think.
