The Mystery Of The Missing Maria Hill In A Post-Movie Fic
I kind of wish that "worth including in stories" as defined by MCU fandom included characters who have been in multiple movies but aren't heroes or Darcy Lewis.
Basically, I have real trouble reading post-AoU fics featuring the team in situations that completely ignore the existence of Maria Hill. Or which do what most post-Avengers 1 fics did: had her walk in, deliver one or two administrative lines, and then have her walk out again.
(Also: please do not tell me to write it myself. When you have written 15% of the fanfic about your OTP on AO3 in a megafandom where the number of stories about that OTP is greater than 400, then come back and tell me that I should write the fic I want to read myself.)
speaking of large proportions of fanfic
I feel like an awful lot of the Steve/Maria stories I've been reading lately are retreads of stories/ideas I've written in my fics. And I'm not sure if this is because these people are having trouble imagining their own scenarios and "sincerest form of flattery", or because I have written an awful lot of ideas and I've used them all up (personally, I think this is doubtful), or because I'm just egotistically reading into things.
I love reading Steve/Maria, but I really want to read good authors with different (yet believable) takes on their relationship, not just an iteration of something I've already written.
(Yes, yes, I know, get in line, take a ticket, fandom is not my personal fanfic service.)
we don't have to agree, but you will respect me
Dear LORD am I tired of the "if you don't think this way you're obviously sick in the head" shtick that's been going around since AoU.
Especially from people on my f-list and tumblr feeds.
MCU AU
Option 1: going to have to do some fancy footwork to get it up and running since the change is going to majorly affect backstories. But Maria! Sif! Carol! Jane! Pepper! Skye! Melinda May! (And possibly sex with Steve. I'm trying to decide on that bit.)
Option 2: would you believe the BDSM AU is probably the easiest option out of my three? A little plot, and then the sexxing. Nice and simple. (And hopefully hot.)
Option 3: if I write this as it should be written, it will be dark - as in, emotional/psychological/physical abuse dark and good-people-doing-not-so-good-things-to-survive. And I'm not entirely certain I can pull it off right.
*goes back and reads her requester's letter again*
And, finally, because it doesn't have to be all about the bitchery:
The Odd Couple - Chapter 4: It is a truth universally acknowledged that with great battles come great mess.
I'm trying to decide exactly how this ends up and whether I can get it done by the end of Captain Hill week on Tumblr.

andveryginger is here and we have had many highly enjoyable discussions about life, fandom, the universe, and the Miss Fisher Mysteries.

(For GoTG, my main issue is that I really don't get Peter/Ronan as a ship. As much as I hate Loki fandom, at least that guy had some ambiguity. He wasn't a religious fanatic hell bent on destroying everything in his path.

As an ace, it wouldn't be my choice, but eh.
