Yesterday, I discover that I'm not actually booked at the client I turned up at. The project manager didn't know anything about me being there, but the woman running the development section of the project was all "oh good you're here".
However, project managers are the ones who approve funding for contractors (like me). So if the project manager didn't have me approved, they weren't going to pay me.
But I had work to finish there, so I finished it. Dropped a mail to the Development Lead about the situation, and figured it would take them a day to get things organised.
This morning, at 8am (one hour after I'm usually out of the house), I start getting calls from work: Project Manager has changed her tune, so I'm at that client every day that I'm not booked elsewhere until I go on holidays on the 15th August.
I'd already put pumpkin in the oven to roast, and arranged to catch up with a friend for brunch. *grr*
In the end, I told them 'Thursday' (since I have another client booked on Wednesdays right now), and that's okay. PHEW.
But, yeah, project management...
Anyway, of yesterday's To Do list, I have thus far done:
1. plantasparagus, garlic, beetroot, herbs in garden
2.add to compost pile
3.cook pumpkin pie
4.clean dishes
5.package up BPAL parcels and send off
6. finish quilt top
7.write 500 words fic
Adding to it:
8.cut and photograph fabric for #selshootsforsixhundred giveaway
9. watch next 3 eps of Agents of SHIELD
