Vid: "Gotta Be Somebody" by Nickelback, done by [livejournal.com profile] nicole9514

John/Teyla, Rodney/Keller, Sam/Cam, and Daniel/Vala.

To be honest, I'm only a fan of John/Teyla; I'm not a fan of Sam/Cam and I can take or leave Rodney/Keller and Daniel/Vala. But somehow, in spite of my shipping preferences, it manages to be an awesome video, all around! Excellent quality of the clips used, excellent timing with the song lyrics, and squeeful at the right points.

Plus, I heard this song only just this week and it's been stuck in my brain as a song I'd love to vid, but lack the chops or skill to actually do. Luckily for me, [livejournal.com profile] nicole9514 has done it instead and it is far, far more awesome than anything I could ever have put together!

[livejournal.com profile] sga_icontest | No Son Of Mine | midday November 30th, NZ time

I was hoping for the shot of Teyla on the ledge in the final denouement, but no cigar. On the plus side, there are clear, sharp caps of Teyla in the challenge, which is a rarity in icontests.

It never ceases to astonish me that, for a woman as gorgeous as Rachel Luttrell, the promo shots of Teyla tend to be extremely ordinary or very blurred, and the caps are rarely much better.

And speaking of icontest promotions: [livejournal.com profile] sgwomen_itest is voting on Challenges 1 & 2 (Text and Pictures), and Challenge 3 (Whispers).

Sadly, there aren't too many entries. It's been a quiet last few icontests for them.

Finally, [livejournal.com profile] sgmen_itest is running Week 7 Challenges: Cameron Mitchell, Text, and Ghost In The Machine

Only 2/3rds of the way through the story, but the NaNo count is 50K+ and I'm confirmed!

Woohoo!

Four things to write during December:

1. Profic submission #1 - to be finished by the 10th, for beta-ing and entry by the 15th.
2. SGA Santa - to be finished by the 8th, for betaing and entry by the 10th. (I can have some leeway with this, I think.)
3. Profic submission #2 - to be finished by the 31st, for entry.
4. Sheppard H/C - to be finished some time between the 24th and 31st December.

And that's not counting the 1... 2... 3... WIPs that I want to complete, or the SGA Black Jewels prequel. Or The One With The Vampires. Or the two episode epilogues.

...I think tonight should be an early bed night. I'm tired just thinking about all the writing I gotta do...
